Upon returning from his 1st overseas tour with the legendary Beatnuts, ILL TONE received news that he’d been awarded grants from Canada’s “Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings” (FACTOR) for both the European tour itself, and also for marketing his debut album, “Bringin’ the Hope Back”. This is a milestone for ILL TONE, being a semi-independent artist.
“Bringin’ the Hope Back” was released on URBNET Records on February 26, 2013 and has since charted over 1,700 units in Canada. In addition to the positive chart numbers, the album also hit #5 on !earshot’s hip hop charts. !earshot is Canada’s Alternative radio charts. The album featured Jasmin Parkin of Mother Mother, Kyprios, and a handful of other talented vocalists, including Skryptcha of Australia’s Obese Records.
